Work

Sometimes it just feels good to be at work. Mostly after a very long weekend with a toddler that wouldn't nap and had to be distracted by two people just to have her diaper changed. And especially after a morning where this toddler had to be held down, while I was being kicked, to put pants on so we could leave the house. When not even a pop on the butt made a difference in her attitude.

Around Christmas when schedules are so messed up, it's a little rough for an almost 2 year old. Kids need schedules. And we're still trying to get back on ours, except it'll all get messed up again next week when she stays home with us every day but Wednesday. A week of not going to Nana's house really messes a girl up when it's 6:30 AM again and we need to get in the car.

Is it January yet?

I sure do hope that these things get easier with age. And here we are trying to get pregnant again.

We must be insane.

I love/hate the holidays, but mostly love.

Holiday stress is upon me in full force. Why is it that days seem to be cut in half when you have the most you need to get gone? There just aren't enough hours in the day in November and December.

We've taken on a few projects in the house over the past few weeks. We bought a new tv for our bedroom. Hellooooooo HD. The tv that was in there was my high school graduation gift from my parents. So, almost 11 years old. Awesome for 11 years ago. Perfect for what I needed at the time. Many moons later, not ideal.

The new tv (LG, LCD, 37 inch) will be arriving next week. We'll then move the old tv into what used to be the "guest" room, which only ever housed maybe 3 "guests" in the past 3 years. It is now Martha's play room. We're getting all the toys out of our living room (praise Jesus!) and setting up the old TV and a Roku (look it up) in there for her to watch as muuuuuuuuuch Dora as she wants. Did I mention she can say like 5-10 spanish words? Love Dora.

Anyway, along with the room-changing project, there's holiday parties and events, getting Christmas presents bought or made, then the trip to TN, among other things. Busy, busy.

I love this time of year, but man does it stress me out. I'm really going to try to knock out as much stuff as I can this weekend so I can enjoy the rest of the month with as little anxiety as possible.
